Mr. Kelly is a native of Franklin County. He graduated from Lillie Mae High School and holds a Bachelor Degree in Agriculture from Alcorn State University, a Master Degree from Mississippi State University and a Specialist Degree from Iowa State University, in Ames, Iowa. He is married to Bettie Jackson of Fayette, Mississippi. They have two children Sharon of Brookhaven and Leroy III of Texas.
Mr. Kelly has been employed in the Yazoo, Claiborne, Sharkey, Issaquena and Lincoln County School Districts. He was the principal for four(4) years at Port Gibson High School in Claiborne County. Since his retirement, he has served in the consulting capacity as Male Involvement Coordinator for the Mississippi Action for Progress, Inc.(MAP) Head Start Program. He has also been in the lawn care and real estate business in Brookhaven, Mississippi. |
